How? They did what no luxury brand should do: made the products more affordable. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHowever, it worked. At a time when Swiss and French watchmaking manufactures were threatened by the newness of quartz watches, a more affordable Cartier was the perfect solution. The \u003cem\u003emaison \u003c\/em\u003ewent from producing hundreds of watches a year at the beginning of the 1970s to thousands with \u003cem\u003eLes Must de\u003c\/em\u003e and now produces more than 500,000 per year.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis example offered is from the early 2000s just before Cartier discontinued \u003cem\u003eLes Must de\u003c\/em\u003e. It is 22mm x 29mm and houses a quartz movement in a silver case.
