Hermès Clipper 18k Gold

A rarely found Hermès Clipper in 18 carat gold from the turn of the century. The case is a timeless 26mm housing a quartz movement. Designed by legendary creative director, Henri D'Origny. 

Condition

The watch is in excellent vintage condition and was serviced in July 2025 to ensure accurate timekeeping. The bracelet shows signs of wear. Hermès box included.

History

By 1981, Henri d'Origny had already given Hermès the Arceau. His next creation would take the Maison in an altogether different direction — away from the equestrian world and toward the open sea.

With the Clipper, Hermès set out to create a sports watch that evoked adventure while retaining the elegance of a maison where "useful is beautiful". D'Origny's solution was architectural: a round case whose bezel, secured with small visible screws, was drawn directly from the portholes of those legendary three-masted vessels. The result was a chic sports watch that could be worn on steel or leather, by the sea or in the city. It remained in production for nearly four decades.
