The story of the Nantucket begins not with the watch, but with a walk along the Normandy coast where boats were chained together. The motif of the chains caught the eye of Robert Dumas.
The following year, Dumas brought this idea to life. The result was theChaîne d'ancre: a bracelet of interlocking figure-eight links that embodied, as the maison so often does, the joy of utility and beauty.
In 1991, Henri d'Origny — the same iconoclastic designer behind the Arceau and the Cape Cod — sketched the outlines of the Nantucket watch. Its defining gesture was architectural: a "rectangle within a rectangle," attached to an iconic Chaîne d'ancre bracelet.
